10 Questions with Tony Matera

  1. What does the Ansay Way mean to you?
We are a service organization that works with our partners to find solutions to help them secure and grow their future.
  2. In your personal experience, how does Ansay differentiate in the marketplace?
Our relationships in the marketplace assure our clients will have a competitive program. But it is our hands-on service model and our commitment to innovation that differentiates us in the marketplace.
  3. Why were you drawn to work at Ansay & Associates?
The opportunity to help others. I have never considered myself a "sales guy". The Ansay & Associates model is built around relationships, service, and product innovation. Our Leaderships' commitment to always invest in tools, products, and opportunities that we can offer our clients and help make them competitive in their respective industries or to help solve a problem/shortcoming that they may be dealing with.
  4. Give us a view of the company – what is it like working at Ansay?
A team approach to success and servicing our clients. Our leadership and partners are always willing to lend a hand and their expertise. Our clients get the benefit of not only working with a team of knowledgeable advisors but also an amazing support staff and account team managers.
  5. Describe your approach to working with your clients.
A lot of my clients would describe my approach as discussion-based. I like to learn what it is the client is facing and then see how our model can offer assistance. A lot of the times my clients were unaware of the tools they had available to them. It is my job to educate the client so that they are maximizing the utilization of services offered to them by either the Ansay toolbox or carriers.
  6. What is one of your favorite client stories?
My favorite stories are the same. When a client has a new idea, venture, or program and they seek our counsel on how to best approach it. When we have a chance to help establish something and create a better work environment or help mitigate risk in creative ways.

Working collaboratively with clients and carriers to bring real long term sustained value to their idea, venture, or program.

  7. Do you have any area of specific focus in terms of industry or market?
General business and local government entities (Municipalities & School Districts)
  8. What gets you out of bed in the morning?
Opportunities. Be it to meet someone new, help someone out, make a connection, or see an old friend.
  9. What would your clients say about you?
I will let them speak for themselves.
