Four Reasons Why You Need an Annual Review

Did you know that life changes can affect your insurance coverage?  Yes, something as common as updating your kitchen or bathroom can have an impact on your insurance coverage

Here are a just a few things to think about:

  •          Did you get married?   When you add your spouse and their vehicle to your policy you are not only giving everyone the same liability limits but you are also getting a multi-car discount.  Be sure to add them to your home/renters policy so they have liability protection as well as coverage for their belongings.  If you have a renters policy you may want to consider increasing the personal property limit.  And don’t forget to add those wedding rings!
  •          Are you thinking about getting the kids that dog, or maybe that trampoline they have been wanting?   As parents, we love to make our kids happy, however these changes may have an impact on your homeowner insurance.
  •          Do I need to update my liability coverage now that the kids are driving?   Young drivers can have a significant impact on your auto insurance.  To help save money, start them out driving a vehicle that only requires liability coverage.  Let them know that they, too, can help with the insurance cost.  When they keep a B average or better in school they qualify for a good student discount which can save hundreds of dollars a year!
  •          Have you done any home remodeling or additions or updated your roof?

There are some Guaranteed Replacement Protection policies that have a provision requiring notification of any alterations that result in an increase to the replacement cost of $5000 or more.

Insurance is usually not the first thing we think about, however an important feature of your policy is that is comes with an agent!  We will take the time to talk with you about your specific needs to help ensure that your policy is up-to-date and you are covered for life’s “what if’s”.
